ABNER "Abbie", 79, of Long Beach Island, NJ, and Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully at Virtua Voorhees Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from complications due to Alzheimer's Disease. He was surrounded by his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan (nee Brill), son Kenneth (Crystal) of Philadelphia, daughter Lizabeth Kelsey (Mark) of Nashville, TN, son Michael (Pam) of Phoenix, AZ, and niece Irene Silver (Jon Jividen) of Phila. as well as his four grandchildren, Rebecca, Sophie, Isaac and Alex Silver.
Born and raised in Wynnefield, Abner graduated Temple University and its law school, practicing law in Philadelphia for 25 years, until he became the operating partner of Jim's Steaks, located at 4th & South Streets.
A memorial will be held at Main Line Reform Temple, 410 Montgomery Ave., Wynnewood, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 16. The family will be receiving relatives and friends immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to The Jewish Community Center of Long Beach Island, 2411 Long Beach Boulevard, Spray Beach, NJ 08008, and/or The Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila., PA 19106.
