Albert J., age 94, died peacefully, surrounded by his children, on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Dr. Finestone was born in Philadelphia PA, was a proud graduate of Central High School, Temple University and Temple University Medical School, where he served on staff. He received his medical degrees, M.D., M.S., and did his residency trainings at Georgetown University Hospital and Temple University Hospital. He was certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and was a Captain in the US Army Medical Corps. Dr. Finestone was a national leader in continuing medical education since the 1970s. Among his honors are: Faculty Prize for the highest average in four years of medical school; Trudeau Society Award; Lindbach Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching; Man of the Year Award, Temple University School of Medicine Alumni Association. In addition, The Temple University Continuing Education Office was named in his honor. He was the author of dozens of publi-cations and books. His true pride and joy was his family.
He is survived by his children, Toby (Joel) Grubman, Jay (Randy Schwartz) Finestone and Audrey (Steve) Kanoff; his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grand-children. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alma Perch Finestone. Services will be held at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Rd., Elkins Park PA 19027 at 10 A.M., Wednesday morning, December 30th. Interment at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Temple University School of Medicine, Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel or the charity of choice.
