BAYERSDORFER
ALICE (nee Klauber), 93, died peacefully and of natural causes on March 3, 2013. Alice Helen Klauber was born October 8, 1919 in New York City. She graduated from Ethical Culture and Fieldston schools going on to Mt Holyoke where she graduated with an A.B. degree in medical sciences. After graduation she joined the Navy and did bacteriological warfare research in the area of tularemia as a Lieutenant JG. After her marriage to Martin ("Mike") Bayersdorfer, Jr. she moved to Steubenviile, Ohio where she taught biology at the College of Steubenville. In 1968 they moved to The Philadelphian in Philadelphia, PA where she remained and maintained a very active life in a wide range of areas including acting (movies and television) and lyric writing. She was also very supportive of several charitable and civic groups. Alice's activities were some-what curtailed when her husband Mike developed polio in 1950 and she spent tireless years unselfishly devoted to helping him. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Beth, and their son, Martin III ("Mike"), and daughter, Sarah. and by her younger brother Alfred ("Bud"), 90, and his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Ryn, and their son Jason.
A family service was held at
JOSEPH LEVINE AND SONS MEMORIAL CHAPELS in Philadelphia followed by burial next to her husband at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Philadelphia. Memorial donations may be made to Planned Parenthood.
