Anna May Mary Butterworth

Anna May Mary Palovcak Butterworth passed away on October 15, 2026. She was born on June 30, 1930, the daughter of Anna and Michael Palovcak of the West Oak Lane area of Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1948, where she played first violin in the school orchestra.

 In 1953 she married John L. Butterworth Jr and raised 4 children-John, Marianne, Michael, and Richard. She was an active member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Plymouth Meeting, PA, where she played organ for over 30 years. She and her husband vacationed in Cancun, Mexico every year for 45 years, considering it their second home. Summers meant time by the pool and Scrabble marathons.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years in 2007, Anna May is survived by 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Viewings will be at the Joseph Levine & Sons Funeral Home (1002 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell) from 6-8 PM on Monday, October 19, 2026 and from 11-12 AM on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 followed by a graveside service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (3301 W Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia). 

A Celebration of Life is planned for June, 2027. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund be made in her honor (donate@curealz.org).
