ANNE (Cohen) was born Feb. 17, 1923 to Sam and Ida Cohen and passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2011.
She was a devoted wife to her sweetheart of 58 years, Milton (Mickey) Chernin. Anne grew up in Philadelphia and returned in 1976 after raising her children and working part-time in Milwaukee. She was kind and generous – always thinking of others and how she could make their lives happier. She donated time and energy to ORT and Deborah, took pleasure in her love of music, played mahj jongg with "the girls", and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Anne was a caring sister to Dorothy (deceased), Henrietta, and Judy; a loving mother to Sheila, Mallorie, and Jeff; sons-in-law John and Peter; an ador-ing grandmother to Michael, Elissa, Danielle, Shira and Martie. Donations may be made to ORT at http://www.ort.org or the Alzheimer's Foundation at http://www.alzfdn.org in her honor. Friends and relatives are invited to Services at JOSEPH LEVINE AND SON MEMORIAL CHAPELS (WEST), 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall PA 19008, at 1 P.M., Friday, July 15th. Interment at Har Zion Cemetery, Collingdale PA. Family and friends will gather after Services at the Greenhill, 1001 City Avenue, Bldg. EC, Wynnewood PA.
