Anthony Joseph Morgan

Anthony J. (“Tony”) Morgan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born at home on November 22, 1933, in Portsmouth, NH, Tony lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a boundless curiosity about the world around him. Tony was the son of Edward Clark Morgan and Rosaline Mary McCooey.

On February 23, 1957, Tony married the love of his life, Nancy, and together they shared an adventure of 69 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they created a beautiful family, affectionately referred to as their “gremlins”. Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy, and their loving children: Kathryn (Thomas) Dwyer, Edward Morgan, James (Reguina) Morgan, Suzanne (Thomas RIP) Johnson, Paul (Susan) Morgan, Shawn (Christine) Morgan, and Judith (Ron) Coughenour. He was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Tony had a long career as a System Analyst at the Pennsylvania Railroad, later Penn Central Railroad and Conrail. He was a man who thrived on learning and was always eager to understand more about the world. Tony and Nancy lived in Philadelphia, Haverford, Brigantine, NJ, Elverson and, most recently, in Hollywood, PA. They traveled the world including Japan, Australia, Alaska, Europe and the Panama Canal.

A memorial service to honor Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, 2:00pm at the Abington Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse, 520 Meetinghouse Rd, Jenkintown, PA 19046. (ZOOM link: https://zoom.us/j/3944674733; ID: 394 467 4733; PW: 725833). Family will begin receiving at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tony’s memory to the Salvation Army (www.salvationarmyusa.org) and, at Tony’s urging, please vote in the upcoming elections, and vote Democrat.

Anthony J. Morgan will be remembered for his laughter, storytelling (some true, some not so true), his love for his family, and his insatiable curiosity. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
