Arthur Carl Pottash

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Arthur Pottash z”l (Abba Chaim).  

Arthur z”l was the beloved husband of Rachel; brother of Hinda (Bruce); father of Bruce (Scott), Shelly (Gary), Laura (Paul), Matthew (Michele); and Zayda to Melissa, Rebecca, Kayli (Ziv), Avi, Noam, Allison (Evan) Justin, Ben, Tani (Hannah), Asaf (Elisheva), Maytal (Josh); and kvelled over his 11 great grandchildren.

Arthur z”l was generous and devoted to his large family. He was also a dedicated leader in the Jewish community particularly at Adath Jeshurun and at his beloved Adath Israel where he established the morning minyan breakfast club. Most recently his talents were on showcase at the Hearth at Drexel where he and Rachel lived together for almost 8 years. There he was known as the Mayor in Residence!

Arthur’s humor and extensive knowledge of all things sports and geography will be missed by all. May his memory be for a blessing.

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Monday January 8 at 11:00 AM at Adath Israel on the Main Line, 250 N. Highland Ave, Merion Station, PA 19066. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to either the Arthur Pottash Minyan Breakfast Fund at Adath Israel (adathisrael.org/funds) or to the Friends of the IDF (fidf.org).
