Babu M. Patel (Dobaria)

Babu Patel (Dobaria), born on June 1, 1947, in the village of Ditla, Gujarat, India.   He was a loving husband to Usha and father to Sanjay, Nilesh, & Pinky.  Above all else he was the best grandfather (Dada/Nana) to Rhythm, Laya, and Mya. 

He married his beloved wife Usha in 1971 after achieving significant milestones in India.  Within days of the birth of his first child, Sanjay, in 1973, he was presented with a life altering opportunity that would bring him to America.  

While pursuing a master's degree at Long Island University, Babu was a testament to hard work and dedication, juggling multiple jobs and studies.  His journey continued in New York City where he worked as an accountant for over two decades.  

During that period, his family grew to include Nilesh and Pinky.   They settled in Dumont, NJ where Babu established himself in the community and became a respected figure.  His career took a turn in the 1990s when he discovered a deep passion for real estate, where he excelled because of his charismatic personality and work ethic.

Babu's life was marked by a commitment to helping others, be it his own family or complete strangers.  His generosity was shared by Usha and they both played a pivotal role in improving the lives of their siblings and their families.  Not only did they facilitate their move to the U.S. they also provided them with guidance and support.

As a devoted father, he found his greatest happiness in uplifting his children and witnessing their growth and success.  With the arrival of his grandkids, Rhythm, Laya and Mya it brought him an even higher level of joy.  

Babu passed away surrounded by his loved ones at 2:31 am on December 23, 2023. A memorial service will be held at Joseph Levine & Sons Funeral Home, 1002 W Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA, on Wednesday, December 27, with family and friends gathering at 9:45 am.
