It is with great sorrow that we announce that Barbara Flaumenbaum, née Portner, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steven, 2 daughters, Alisha (Christopher) and Lindsay (Peter), 2 grandsons, Ethan and Benjamin, and a brother, Jeffrey. She grew up in West Oak Lane, Philadelphia, and worked as a Lab Technician for many years.
Barbara's love of shopping, travel, word games (she was a whiz at Scrabble), and her family were familiar to all who knew her. She always had a kind word, a thoughtful gift, or a tidbit of information that she thought others would enjoy learning. She was also known for her amazing memory of phone numbers from years past and didn't need to rely on "complicated" technology.
Barbara and Steve made many memories through the years while living in Cherry Hill, Holland, and Langhorne, and grew wonderful communities of friends in each. They loved their many pets over the years, with their dog Maddie holding a special place in her heart most recently. They shared a love of travel, and Italy quickly became one of her favorite places to visit. Although she was not an adventurous eater, she appreciated the culture and experiences, nonetheless.
She relished in the times she visited her daughters in the many different places they lived and always looked forward their phone calls and time together as a family. Having her grandsons close by brought her the greatest joy to be able to watch them grow.
Her generosity, and kind spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
