On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Barbara Pearson-Rac, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away at the age of 75 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Barbara was born on March 2, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, to Philip and Phyllis Pearson. After John F. Kennedy's inaugural address, she knew her calling was to serve her community. She devoted her life to her philanthropic efforts. As chair of Westport's Make a Difference Day for over 25 years, as well as President of the Board of First Night Westport, and Vice President of the Board of the Breast Cancer Survival Center, she made a lasting impact on her community. In addition to her philanthropic work, she was an author - writing a series of mystery novels featuring the character, Diana Jeffries.
She is survived by her husband Frank, her daughter Sara and her son-in-law, Steve, her grandsons Simon and Gabriel, as well as her sister Carol, and her brother-in-law Steve, nieces Amy and Erica, and many wonderful cousins as well as all the lives she's touched through her community outreach and professional life.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in her name.
