BELLE GREEN ATKIN passed away on Sept 9, 2008 at 101 yrs old. She was born in Kielz, Poland, August 19, 1907. In 1920, at 13, Belle emigrated with her family to the United States, settling in Akron, Ohio. After graduating from West High School, she attended the Hammel Business School in Akron. After her marriage in 1942, Belle and her husband lived in Cleveland, Ohio where Jerry partnered in the Stork Baby Furniture business. In Cleveland, they belonged to the Park Synagogue. Following Jerry's death in 1995, Belle retired to Florida, residing at the Stratford Court Retirement Home in Boca Raton. Belle was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Esther Mauer Green; her brother, Abraham Green; her sisters, Rose Green Levine and Tillie Green Levine; and her husband, Jerry Atkin. She is survived by her brother, Sam Green, formerly of Akron Ohio, now retired to Boynton Beach Florida. She leaves nieces, Loretta Green Stein, Sharon Levine Toll, Beth Green Oliver, and nephews, Jerry Levine and David Green, plus many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and two great-great's niece and nephew. Great-nieces, Marta Stein, Traci Levine Havens, Jody Levine, Emily Levine Slade, Sara Oliver, and seven great-nephews, Joseph Stein, Neal Stein, Joseph Levine, Michael Oliver, Adam Green, Jonathon Green, Jack Green, one great-great niece: Raena Havens and one great-great nephew: Riley Havens. Belle will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends. Graveside service will be Friday, Sept.12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Anshe Sfard Cemetery on Swartz Road with Rabbi Mendy Sasonkin officiating.
