Age 94, April 24, 2018, of Palm Beach FL and Ventnor NJ.
Doting husband to Harriet (nee Silow), wife of 65 years; proud father of Steven (Leslie), Bruce and Jon (Jaime); cherished grandfather of Sara, Evan and Alex. Also survived by sister Vivian Selsman. Brother to Oscar, George and Marvin who passed before; proud uncle to 10 nephews and nieces.
All American College Football Player, Educator, Football Coach, Camp Founder and Mentor to Thousands of Athletes and Children. Ben Coren was affectionately known as "Coach" and "Uncle Ben" to many athletes and children whose lives he enriched. Co-founder of Indian Springs Day Camp where he cut the grass for more than 60 years, Dr. Coren used sports to mold the lives of many generations. Awards included: Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, West Chester University Foot-ball Hall of Fame, Cheyney University Hall of Fame, Distinguished Alumni Award, West Chester University.
Relatives and friends are invited to Memorial Services, Sunday 12:30 P.M., JOSEPH LEVINE AND SONS MEMORIAL CHAPELS (WEST), 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall PA. After the Memorial Service, the family will welcome visitors at the home of Steven and Leslie Coren. In lieu of flowers, contri-butions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Chapel of Four Chaplains, Phila.
