Bianca Lehman

Bianca Cynthia Lehman, 95, of Whiting, NJ passed away on
January 26, 2024 of congestive heart failure. Bianca was born
on April 15, 1928 in Wittelshofen, Germany and survived the
Holocaust when, at the age of 10, she became a refugee and
fled Germany as part of the Kindertransport, along with about
10,000 other children who were brought to Great Britain to
escape persecution. Bianca developed a fondness for the
Royal family when she lived with a foster family near Windsor
Castle and up until Queen Elizabeth’s passing enjoyed sending
letters to the Queen and receiving replies from her ladies in
waiting. Bianca immigrated to the United States as a young
adult, settled in New Jersey and married Henry Lehman (also a
Kindertransport kinder) on Sept 10, 1955. She became involved
in politics and was an elected member of the Democratic
County Committee in NJ, a position she proudly held for over 60
years until the time of her passing. Bianca worked at various
clerical positions during her life, was a Life Master in Bridge and
was an avid Yankee and tennis fan. Her greatest joy in life was
being a loving grandmother. Bianca is survived by her daughter
Heidi Lehman and granddaughter Maria Lehman. Bianca was
preceded in death by her husband Henry Lehman, daughter
Monica Lehman and companion Stuart White. A memorial
service to honor her life will be held at a future date.
Contributions in her memory can be made to USC Shoah
Foundation or Kindertransport Association.
