BURTON JOSEPH, December 11, 2015 of Media; beloved husband of Linda (nee Handloff); loving father of David Aron Cohen and Jason Eric Cohen, devoted brother of Lois Drake.
Burt received his Ph.D. in Social Systems Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a planning and organizational consultant and was a Senior Research Associ-ate at the Center for the Study of Youth Policy at the Univer-sity of Pennsylvania, where he also served as an adjunct associate professor. Burt is a past president of Congregation Beth Israel of Media, where he spearheaded the synagogue's endowment fund. Following his retirement, he served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for CASA in Delaware County.
Services were held Sunday, at Congregation Beth Israel. Interment was at Har Jehuda Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Congregation Beth Israel Endowment Fund or to CASA,
