Carol (née Kowit), 78, of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia on March 23, 1947, Carol was the beloved step daughter of Ruth Kowit and the daughter of the late Joseph and Elaine Kowit. She was the devoted wife of Martin Rosenberg for 55 wonderful years, and mother to Marc Rosenberg and his wife Angela. Carol (Gram) was the proud grandmother of Sidney and Arden, who brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her loving siblings Scott Kowit (and wife Debby Kowit), David Kirshner (and wife Betsy Frauenthal), and Leslie Morris (and husband Glen Morris); as well as several nieces and nephews — Paul Kowit, Ben Kirshner, Caleb Kirshner, Jennifer Morris, and Talia Morris. She was predeceased by her nephew Brian Steinberg. Carol will also be fondly remembered by her many uncles, cousins, and extended family members, including Alan and Nicole Klein; Marla and Gary Kerstein; Samantha, Stephen, and Jacob Kerstein; and so many more.
An accomplished musician, Carol’s lifelong passion for music began in the Upper Moreland School District and continued at West Chester University, where she excelled in string instruments, piano, and choral performance. She went on to share her love of music through a dedicated 35-year teaching career with the Lower Moreland School District, inspiring generations of students. She also loved to listen to music and was an avid concert-goer, attending shows since she was a kid and throughout her life, including many favorites like Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, and Bruce Springsteen.
Carol also had an unwavering love for Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies. She celebrated every big win — and felt every loss — through decades of fandom, from the 1980 and 2008 championships to the 1983, 1993 and 2022 playoff runs to the World Series. Carol, along with Martin, even traveled on several Phillies trips to other stadiums, including Chicago, Washington, Baltimore & Boston, as well as Phillies Alumni Cruises as well.Carol was very involved within the Blue Bell community. Inspired by her love for reading, she coordinated the community book club. Carol also participated in many other social activities, including weekly mahjong, the monthly women’s breakfasts, summer block parties, and so much more.
She was an enthusiastic shopper, making thousands of trips to the Willow Grove, Montgomeryville, King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting and Gallery malls and more. In 1986, she became what should be considered a founding shopping member of QVC upon its immediate launch.
Carol’s memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
