Celia Marin Guidera

Celia Marin Guidera passed away on June 3rd, surrounded by family at her parents’ home in West Chester, Pennsylvania after a brief illness. A resident of Philadelphia, Celia was 36 years old, a deeply beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

She received her BS in Education from Cabrini University and earned her Masters of Education, summa cum laude from West Chester University. A dedicated educator, Celia taught elementary school students in the Philadelphia School District. More recently she was the Middle School reading specialist at Lindley Academy in Philadelphia, working with staff and students she loved.

With her resilient spirit and lifelong conviction to be a teacher, she brought an abundance of patience, a deep well of empathy and indefatigable optimism to the classroom. These traits were loved by her family and friends as well.

Celia enjoyed time with family and friends, traveling, the beach, the Schuylkill River Trail, and living in Philadelphia.

Celia is survived by her parents, Lesley Gordon Guidera and Michael Guidera; her sisters Olivia and Julia, and Julia’s husband Jordan Zakarin and their son, Shea; aunts, uncles, and 31 cousins.
