Claire E. Riebman

RIEBMAN CLAIRE E. (nee Edeson), March 22, 2003; beloved wife of Leon Riebman, for 59 years; devoted mother of Barbara Riebman (Joel Shoulson) and Robert (Shannon) Riebman; grandmother to Alex Shoulson and grandmother through marriage to Thea and Michael Shoulson; cherished sister of Florence Rubin. A homemaker, volunteer and student at Tyler School of Art, Claire parlayed her interest in the arts into a major fundraising campaign for Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, a prestigious art school in Israel. She established a national fundraising office for the school in Philadelphia and mounted art exhibits showcasing the talents of Bezalel students. Claire inspired her family wih her great love of nature and compassion for animals. A nature counselor at Camp Saginaw in her youth, she often rescued injured wildlife and homeles animals. Her support for their humane treatment aided many local animal welfare/animal rights organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Wed. 11 A.M. at JOSEPH LEVINE AND SON, N. Broad St. above 71st Ave., followed by Burial at Har Nebo Cem. The family will be returning to the late residence.
