Claire Mae Silverman

CLAIRE MAE SILVERMAN (ROSEN)
Claire Mae Silverman (nee Rosen), 91, of Boca Raton, Fl and Margate, NJ, passed away on July 30, 2020 of complications of the COVID-19 virus. Born on January 8, 1929 in Philadelphia, she was raised in Wynnefield, where she met her beloved husband Richard Silverman. They were married at Har Zion Synagogue in 1947 and were active members for years thereafter. Together they built the Richard Automotive Group consisting of seven franchises in four locations in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. They raised three wonderful, loving and successful children, Cindy, Leslee and Scott. Claire Mae reveled in their accomplishments and would not necessarily wait to be asked before bragging. Later in life, she began a new career as a realtor in Margate, NJ working with Fox and Lazo (Northfield) and Prudential Fox. There she enjoyed her many interactions with her clients, learning their individual stories and helping to fulfill their real estate needs.
Claire Mae and Richie always had a deep connection to their Jewish heritage and were active in American Jewish Congress and many synagogue committees through the years. They instilled this commitment in their children, who all spent many summers at Camp Ramah in the Poconos, and both daughters taught Hebrew school. This transcended to her grandchildren, who are all raised with deep connections to their synagogues and the Jewish tradition.
Everyone who knew Claire Mae will remember her with a smile and a story. They will all comment humorously of Claire's bouffant hairdo, that never changed. She loved to sit and talk and tell tales of her travels around the globe, business experiences and, of course, her family. She always enjoyed a party and was the joyous hostess of many large family gatherings through the years. She was robust and strong willed, having survived two different episodes of cancer, winning the battles with her positive attitude.
She is survived by her siblings, Barbara (Bobbie) Segall and Richard Rosen (Henrietta): her children, Cindy Imber (Paul), Leslee Tabas (Richard), Scott Silverman: her grandchildren, Jessica Imber, Erica Imber, Aaron Imber, Charles Tabas, Richard Silverman , Remick Silverman; her great grandson, Austin Imber; and many dear and beloved nieces and nephews.

Private graveside service will be held for the family. Contributions can be made in her name to Glida's Club of South Jersey (www.guildasclubsouthjersey.org). www.levinefuneral.com
