WIDELITZ
CLAIRE WIDELITZ

Beloved mother of four, grand-mother of eight and great-grand-mother of three passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018 following days of family, by her side, sharing their love for her. Her family meant the world to her and was first and foremost in her life. She earned a degree in Sociology from Penn State where she met her longtime husband and companion, Martin Widelitz. They spent six memorable years living in Lausanne, Switzerland where they started their family. She also had a long career as a social worker in the All Saints, Parkview and Gwynedd Square nursing and rehabilitation facilities helping families plan the care for their loved ones. She was active in the community campaigning and canvassing for Democratic party candidates. She was tenacious and fought tirelessly for fairness in all aspects of her personal and work lives. She remained active in her retirement serving as the president of her condominium association board and continued to feed her passion for children working in the afterschool program at the Ambler YMCA well into her eighties. The children loved Mrs. W and brought her great joy. She will be remembered as the center of an extended family unit drawing them together with her unlimited love for them all and will be missed dearly..
Services are private. Shiva will be observed Saturday from 7 to 10 P.M. and Sunday from 12 - 6 P.M. at the residence of Monica Camhi. Memorial services are being planned for the future. Contributions in her memory may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the Southern Poverty Law Center (splcenter.org).
