DANIEL B. KELMAN, CPA, age 65, of Southampton PA and Atlantic City NJ, died June 9, 2009, at home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Beloved husband of Sherry (nee Kaplan). Loving and proud father of Craig (Amy) Kelman, Eric (Robin) Kelman and Michael (Caren) Kelman. Adoring grand-father of Jordyn, Jaiden, Cole, Dylan, Madden, Milo and Sydnie. Devoted son of Geraldine and the late Martin Kelman and son-in-law of Esther and the late Joseph Kaplan. Dear brother of Glenn Kelman and brother-in-law of Howard Kaplan. Sadly missed by cousin Barry (Dorothy) Hochman and many others.
Daniel was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University class of 1965. He was the managing partner of his certified public accounting firm for over 30 years and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was known for his gourmet cooking skills and enjoyment of fine wines. Travel was another of his passions especially his wine tasting trips to California with his wife's dear cousins Barbara and Dieter Kannapin, and a September 2008 trip to Italy and Paris, France. His favorite winter vacations were spent on the Caribbean Island of St. John, USVI where he enjoyed to snorkel.
Relatives and friends are invited to Services Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 1:30 P.M., at JOSEPH LEVINE AND SONS MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 4737 Street Road, Trevose PA. Shiva will be observed at his late residence. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19111 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
