Dianne Yvonne Greenwald

The family of Dianne Yvonne Greenwald (nee Weinberg) of Apollo Beach, FL is saddened to announce her passing on 12/22/2021 at the age of 93.

Dee is lovingly remembered by her children: Wendy (Steve) Jennings and Bruce (Heidi) Greenwald; grandchildren Michael (Mary) Jennings, Lynne (Adam) Danoff, Brad Jennings, Andrea (Arthur) Lawrie; and brother Stuart (Blanche) Weinberg. Charles Danoff, Louis Danoff, Nora Jennings, and Jonathan Jennings were blessed to have known their great grandmother.

Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Norman; parents Florence and Paul Weinberg; and brother Lawrence Weinberg.

Born in New Jersey, Dee graduated from Newark State Teachers College and used her degree as a kindergarten teacher in Philadelphia for many years. As world travelers who enjoyed getting to know the local traditions, she and Norman had several unique experiences including square dancing on the Great Wall of China, standing on the equator in two different countries, and crossing the Arctic circle.

Dee also created beautiful works of art in several mediums including water color, pottery, and sculpture. The Abbey Stage Door in Philadelphia was the perfect place to showcase her acting and singing talent. She starred in several musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, Mame, and I Do, I Do. Before Audible, Dee recorded books on tape for the blind, one of which resides in the Library of Congress. In addition to her multitude of hobbies and contributions, cooking was yet another special talent of hers. Few things made her happier than to be surrounded by family and friends sharing a meal or freshly baked cookies. Dee never missed a moment to share her zest for life and love for all the people in it.
