Dr. Richard Plotkin

Dr. Richard Plotkin, May 18, 2026, of Bala Cynwyd, PA; beloved husband of Esther (nee Rosoff); loving father of Michael Plotkin (Randi) and Julie Plotkin; devoted brother of Cynthia Mervis (Michael) and the late Stephen Plotkin (Lori Adelson); adored Zayde of Stephen, Jonah and Jamie; cherished son and son-in-law of the late Marcella and the late David Plotkin, the late Dorothy and the late James Rosoff.

Richard graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School.  He served his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital.  Richard practiced in Plymouth Meeting and Roxborough, PA, where he was truly dedicated to his patients and his wonderful staff.  He ended his career back at Hahnemann/Drexel University, teaching residents in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he was honored with the Nabil Abaza Excellence in Teaching Award.

Richard's first love was his family and dear friends, his career was his second love.  He will be missed by all the lives he has touched.

Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.

Following the burial, Shiva will be observed in the Social Room at Sutton Terrace, Bala Cynwyd, PA. on Wednesday only.
