Edith “Edie” Davis of Warminster, PA passed away on Sunday, May 19th at age 87. She is survived by her three children Ellen Cohen (Keith), Bonnie Horowitz (Howard) and Craig Davis (Patti), and her seven grandchildren Emily (Charlie), Gabe, Julia, Melanie (Kyle), Jeff, Cole and Nina.   She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold Davis, and her siblings Seymour, Shirley and Flora.

Edie was admired for her outgoing nature, desire to connect with others, and welcoming and vivacious personality. She was a long-time member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Wilmington, DE, where she and her husband raised their family. At Ann’s Choice Retirement Community, where she has lived for the past 9 years, Edie was involved in numerous activities including the creative writing group, the short story group, mahjong, and bridge, and Jewish Resident Council activities. She was a lifelong learner and traveler, always interested in exploring new topics,
and often had several books she was reading simultaneously.  She especially enjoyed attending lectures and seminars on music, art and history. Her ongoing desire to expand her understanding and knowledge was always an inspiration for her children and grandchildren.

Edie worked many years as an executive assistant and then enrolled in college in her 40’s.  She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Widener University at age 53 while working full-time, an achievement that reflects her resilience, persistence and drive. Her family was so proud of her ability to achieve this lifelong goal.

Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
