Edward B. Adams

Edward B. Adams of Swarthmore, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday May 2nd, 2026 at the age of 96, which amazingly is also the birthday of his beloved wife Barbara who passed away in 2020. Edward met Barbara in Pennsylvania playing tennis in 1955 and married in 1957, enjoying 63 years of marriage.

Edward is survived by his daughter Helena and son Ethan and partner Janette, and grandchildren Sophie and Zachary and wife Gaby.

Born in New York, his family, including his late brother Julius (Jules) moved to Jersey City where he grew up and where his mother Rose ran a successful uniform store after his father Arthur’s passing when Edward was just 10 years old. Edward joined the Medical Core of the Air National Guard during the Korean war which enabled him to finish exams at Rutgers University where he ultimately earned a degree in Pharmacy, embarking on a thriving career in Regulatory Affairs for Pharmaceutical Companies and a move to his cherished home in Swarthmore, PA.

He was also known for his sharp sense of humor, devotion to family, and his passion for gardening and music of Cole Porter, Fred Astaire and Bobby Short, and world travel with Barbara.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend graveside services, Monday May 4th 1:00PM at Mt Sharon Cemetery, in Springfield PA, Section T Lot 259. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward’s memory may be made to https://www.shiva.com/trees
