Edward, January 21, 2024; of Bluebell, PA. Born to Benjamin and Lillian Schreiber in New York in December of 1950. An academic standout in high school whose achievements included earning the highest possible marks in State Regents chemistry exams, Ed earned admission to the University of Pennsylvania where he met his loving wife, Maureen. After graduation from Penn he earned his D.O from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic medicine and did a Residency in surgery. With the birth of his two children, Dan and Adam, Ed realized that surgery was not for a young family man and started a twenty-year career in the emergency department that included a stint as Chief of Emergency Medicine for Suburban General Hospital and over 10 years as Director of Paramedic training for Montgomery County. He spent another fifteen years in Occupational Medicine helping victims of workplace accidents through Novacare. He saw the birth of six grandchildren and kept the love of his family and friends through tough times as his Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia worsened. His legacy lives on through the thousands he has helped as a doctor as well as a father, husband and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to services Thursday January 25, 1:00pm at Congregation Beth Or; Interment will be private. The family will return to the late residence where Shiva services will be observed Thursday and Saturday nights at 7pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to Congregation Beth Or (or) the Sierra Club.
