ROSS, ELAINE H. (nee Hochman), died peacefully at her Drexel Hill, PA home on May 11, 2015 at age 84, after spending a beautiful Mother's Day weekend with her loving family. Born August 9, 1930 in Philadelphia to the late Thelma and Samuel Hochman, Elaine was the beloved wife of 52 years to Harry Ross. She leaves behind three adoring daughters: Lynn (Smith) Fulstone (son-in-law Larry Gardner and granddaughter Rachel), Shellie (Smith) Hatfield (grandchildren Juliette and Christopher), and Gerri (Smith) Weagraff (son-in-law Paul and grandchildren Rebekah and Jordan). She was also stepmother to Nadine (Ross) Eissler, Leslie (Ross) MacDonald, and Glenn Ross, and sister to Sylvia Zutz. In addition to her family, Elaine's passions included theater, traveling around the country (by car or RV), and reading. She loved simple pleasures such as sitting around a campfire, relaxing on a beach, and enjoying good food. Her husband's tenor voice and her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments brought her great joy and pride. In her earlier years, she performed with several community theater groups including Manoa Players and Players Club of Swarthmore. Elaine will always be remembered for her selflessness, quick wit, sense of humor, and strength. Friends and family will gather later this month for a celebration of her life.
