Ellin P. (nee Peiper) June 29, 2012, of Haverford , PA. Wife of Donald S. Spitzer. Mother of Amy S. (Michael) Kass and Andy (Linda Pegalis) Spitzer. Grandmother of Adam, Alex and Eric. Ellin graduated from Friends Central School in 1952, and spent a year of high school in Mexico where she learned the value of cultural exchange. She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 1956 with a degree in the History of Art. She was a social worker for several years. She married Donald S. Spitzer in 1957 and while raising two children worked as a contract administrator in the family engineering firm and in customer service for a financial services firm. She had a passionate interest in folk art which she and her husband collected during their extensive travels. She was an accomplished knitter and some of her work was exhibited at the Quadrangle in Haverford, PA a retirement community where she lived for the past 7 years. She was well loved and respected by all who knew her and her wry, delightful sense of humor was legendary. She will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to memorial services Friday July 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Joseph Levine & Sons, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA.
