Emil Bunimovich

Emil Bunimovich, October 26, 2026, of Phila., PA, beloved husband of Yanina Glaz; loving father of George Bunimovich (Joanne); cherished grandfather of Sarah and Will.

Emil was born in Kiev, Soviet Ukraine, in 1931. He, his parents and sister, who was just born before WWII, evacuated to Kazakhstan and came back to Kiev after the war.

My father graduated from the university with a mechanical engineering degree, and after a stint in Siberia obtained work in Kiev. He loved music, art and literature, and found a worthy partner in my mom, Yanina, whom he married in 1958.

After typical struggles within the Soviet system, and mostly driven by my mom, my father and the rest of our family emigrated to the USA in 1979. My father adored his new country and was the biggest American patriot I ever knew. He loved American jazz, as well as classical music, although he couldn't play a note!

My father and mother always valued and loved their family, above all, and sacrificed throughout their lives to make our lives better..

We will always remember my father as a kind, intelligent and loving man, and we will miss him dearly...
