ESKIN
ERNEST, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Thursday December 11, 2014. Ernie was born in Philadelphia and lived in the city his entire life. He went to Central High School and, after a brief stint in the army, graduated from Temple University. He then earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. For many years before retiring, he was the Director of Traveler's Aid Society of Philadelphia. He and his wife, Myra, raised their two children in Mt. Airy where they enjoyed the companionship of wonderful neighbors and life-long friends and where they often held Thanksgiving dinners for a large and loving extended family. Ernie loved tennis, gardening and cooking.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Myra Aptekar Eskin, his children Rachel Eskin Fisher and Matthew Eskin, his son-in-law Daniel Fisher and daughter-in-law Kristin Romens and his four grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 14th, 11 A.M. at Philadelphia School Annex, 2501 South Street (corner of 25th & South). Interment was private.
