Eta Glassman

Eta Glassman (née Eta Sybil Roseman) (Sep 25, 1936 - October 9, 2026)

Eta Glassman loved a party, dancing with her husband, Howard, a glass of Ketel One on the rocks with a twist of lime, and a dense chocolate brownie with ice cream. She left us as she lived her life - smiling, full of energy, spunk, kindness and friendship.

Eta was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1936 to Benjamin Roseman and Ruth Singer Roseman, owners of the Rose Singer shop. An only child, Eta attended Wyoming Seminary and graduated with a degree in Business with a minor in retail from Beaver College. Until her final days, she remained close friends with her college roommates.

In 1961, Eta married Howard Theodore Glassman, who predeceased her in 2020. Howard and Eta loved to play golf and dance. They enjoyed fine wine, food and travel with their many friends. Married for 59 years, anyone who saw Eta and Howard could see their mutual love for the other. Even in his final days, Howard would smile lovingly at Eta and say “Looking good, Eta”.

A role model of the working woman and mother in the 1960’s and 70’s, Eta was a buyer for Strawbridge & Clothier, worked in the gift shop of the Please Touch Museum, and worked in marketing and public relations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. Raised by a family of retailers, Eta always dressed sharp and didn’t leave home without her favorite seasonal lipstick perfectly applied.

Eta resided at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr for the past 13 years. There she led the marketing committee, was a member of the Board and welcomed new residents with open arms. Known as the “mini mayor of Beaumont”, due to her outgoing personality and 4 foot 8 stature, Eta was loved by residents and Beaumont employees alike.

Eta is survived by her daughters Beth Robin (Mark Eliason) and Sharon Mindy (Paul Kiteck) and her grandchildren, Nicole Carlie and Aaron Joshua Schulman. Eta never missed an opportunity to tell her family she loved them and was proud of them. Her memory will always be a blessing.

Services and memorial service were private. Eta requested that contributions in her memory be made to the Beaumont Scholarship Fund care of Joe Peduzzi, Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, 601 N. Ithan Ave, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 (memo line: BRSI).
