ETHEL LYONS TRIESTER - a Philadelphia native, died in Fla. Sept. 4, 2005. She was 100 years old and still had all her faculties as well as never wearing glasses. Her daughter, Carole Osvick formerly of Riverside, said that a big birthday bash was held July 30th with family and friends coming from all over.
In her younger days, she wrote a fashion column called "Shopping with Ethel" in the Philadelphia newspaper. She was an excellent cook and entertained like a "Pearl Mesta." She was active with "City of Hope" and past president of Hadassah in addition to many other philanthropic causes.
She was predeceased by Lester Lyons, her 1st husband, and Harry Triester, her 2nd husband. She is survived by 4 children, Carole Osvick of Delray Beach Fl., Dr. Edwin Lyons of Naples, Fl., Dr. Arthur Triester of Phila., and Lewis Triester of Phila., 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Joseph Levine & Son Memorial Chapel, Philadelphia, PA where the interment and service took place.
