KURITZKES--Fedor A.,

1929 - 2017, died peacefully at home on April 12. Beloved husband of Dorothea, devoted father of Daniel (Kit), Richard (Julie), Andrew (Amy), and Karen (Jim). Loving grandfather of Benjamin (Miriam), Dana, Sarah (Brett), Justin (Celine), Zachary, Caroline, Valerie, and Anna and step-grandfather of Ryan and Sarah Varela, and dedicated brother of Alexander. Born in Chemnitz, Germany, he fled with his family to New York in 1939 after Kristallnacht and went on to fulfill the refugee's dream of a life reborn. He became a pediatrician in Queens and Great Neck whose care touched so many patients over his more than 40 years in practice. An active member of Hillcrest Jewish Center and the Jamaica Estates community, someone whose wealth was measured in the rich friendships he made at each stage of his life. Above all, a family man who was utterly devoted to his wife of 64 years, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, and his relatives. He will be missed and his memory treasured by his family, friends, patients, and all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2:30pm, at Joseph Levine & Sons, 4737 Street Rd., Trevose, PA. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. The family requests that any donations in his name be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC 20024. https://engage.ushmm.org/ support.html.
