Felice Goodwin Wiener of Wynnewood Felice Goodwin Wiener died of ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Felice was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and grew up in Providence. After her mother died of the same disease forty years ago, she founded the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Foundation and was its first president, and was still on its Board at her death. She was also very involved in the Rittenhouse Square Committee for the Philadelphia Orchestra for over forty years, having served as both President and then Chairwoman of the Committee, as well as Vice-President of the overall Volunteer Committees for the Orchestra. She served on a number of boards, including the Penn Wynne Library, the Elder Craftsmen, and Elder Care of Lower Merion. She also was president of the Mothers Association at Baldwin School, and was a member of the Social Action Commission of the Union for Reform Judaism. Always an enthusiastic Democrat, she started as a committeeperson for her ward, and served for five years as Co-Chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. She then served for eight years on the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners, before retiring from that job. She and her husband Tom have four children, Gary Wiener, Debbie Eggleston, Allison Goodwin, and Todd Goodwin, and three grandchildren, Hannah Eggleston, Eli Eggleston, and Harrison Goodwin. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Foundation, Main Line Reform Temple, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
