FRANCES (nee Shapiro), of Wyndmoor. Wife of the late Meyer E., beloved mother of Margie Dale "Mina" (Thomas) Lavendol and Rodger Sless; sister of Ruth Schwerin; grandmother of Marcy Castillo and Michael Singh, great grandmother of Andy and Briana Castillo. At age 16, Mrs. Sless was an avid autogyro plane pilot which led to her interest in aeronautical engineering which she studied at the University of Pittsburgh as one of the first women to major in that field. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Free Library of Springfield Township, Montgomery Co. for more than 20 years. She was also on the Board of the Wyndmoor Women's Club and a member of that club for more than 30 years, as well as a member of Women's American ORT. Relatives and friends are invited to Services, Wednesday 2:30 P.M. JOSEPH LEVINE AND SONS MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 4737 Street Road, Trevose. Interment Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will return to the late residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Women's American ORT .
