ALPERN
GRACE (nee Goldstein), of Philadelphia peacefully passed away on November 4, 2012 at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family.
Grace is survived by Billy Alpern, her beloved husband of 71 years, 3 children Barbara, Richard and Jeffrey, loving daughters-in-law Mary-beth and Molly, and grandchildren Max, Sam, Zachary, Nikki, Madison, Colm and Daniel.
Grace was a loving and generous friend to many and spent most of her life fighting for human rights first as a member of the Panel of Philadelphians, then as Executive Director of the Fellowship Commission, Vice President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the ACLU, Chairman of the Board of Eagleville Hospital, and Chairperson of the Pennsyl-vania Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Celebration of Grace's life Tuesday, Nov. 6, 12:00 Noon at Roosevelt Memorial Park (Trevose). The family welcomes friends and relatives back to the residence at the Philadelphian. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
