Harry P. Schmerling

Harry P. Schmerling, 82, of King of Prussia, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Barbara "Bobbi" (nee Salzman); loving father of Lisa Forte (John), Tara Bernabe (Scott), Craig Schmerling, and Kevin Schmerling (Rachel); devoted brother of Suzi Blitzer (Bob); cherished grandfather of Emily, Jessica, Juliana, Jacob, Zachary and Vaughn. Harry grew up in Wynnefield, PA and graduated with a History degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he also earned a Masters Degree in Communications. He worked the majority of his life in Public Relations and worked for various companies including the Latin Casino, Paramount Pictures, and his own firm Schmerling & Associates. Harry was an avid reader, history buff, plane enthusiast, and Phillies fan. He loved dogs and always had a German Shephard by his side. Above all, he was a true family man and his greatest devotion was to his family. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org), the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
