Heidi Lit Greenwald

Heidi Lit Greenwald, 66, peacefully passed away on the evening of January 15th, 2023 at Phoenixville Hospital, with her loving husband and two daughters by her side.

 

Beloved wife of Bruce Alan Greenwald; loving mother of Lynne Greenwald Danoff (Adam Danoff) and Andrea Greenwald Lawrie (Arthur Lawrie); adoring grandmother of Charles Henry Danoff and Louis Norman Danoff; cherished sister of Robin Ayres (Ron Ayres) and Joan Lit (Doug Baer). 

 

Heidi, daughter of Jack and Bertha Lit, was born in Philadelphia on June 28th, 1956.  The 1974 graduate of Springfield Township High School then earned her Special Education degree from West Chester University in 1978.  In 1979, Bruce and Heidi tied the knot and lived in their Collegeville home for over 40 years.

 

Recently retired, Heidi spent her early adult years as a software engineer for GE, a stay-at-home mom, and re-entered the world of education with a successful and meaningful career as a 5th grade learning support teacher with the Spring-Ford Area School District.  She never missed an opportunity to help a student or a colleague in need of a shoulder to lean on.  

 

Alongside her high school sweetheart, Heidi enjoyed traveling the world, preferably by cruise ship, and always made time to visit family in sunny Florida or attend a show on Broadway.  On their most recent worldly adventure, Heidi and Bruce cruised the Mediterranean where they were able to make Aliyah in Jerusalem, a trip of a lifetime! Though Heidi traveled the globe, her world revolved around frequent calls and visits with family, especially her grandsons. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to chapel services on Wednesday January 18 at 11:00 AM at Joseph Levine & Sons, 4737 Street Road, Trevose PA. Those unable to join in person may watch live at levinefuneral.com/trevose-webcam. Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Greenwald-Danoff residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Heidi’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
