Helen (Schniet) Feinberg (2/8/1932- 6/11/2023):
Helen was born in the Bronx, New York, daughter of Abe and Ide Schniet. She graduated from Roosevelt High School with a degree in commercial business, where she was also the editor of her high school yearbook.
Helen married her high school sweetheart, Sidney Feinberg, in 1953. She worked at Bazzini Nuts and Doubleday Publishers in New York City before beginning a family. Barry was born in the Bronx and, soon after, they moved to Clifton, NJ, where Susan and Mark were born. There, Helen was an active member in the sisterhood of the Clifton Jewish Center. Once the children were in school, Helen began working in the catering business, earning much recognition and achievement awards over the years. In the early 1980’s, Helen and Sid relocated to Ambler, Pennsylvania, and remained in that area for the rest of their lives.
Helen was known for her culinary expertise and her gregarious personality. She had the knack for attracting new friends while keeping her earlier ones close, including Friends from middle school, Delores Handler and Howie Rachbach, with whom she remained in close contact until the very end . She developed an extensive social network, and took an active interest in all her friends’ lives, with a remarkable memory for birthdates and family events.
Helen was pre-deceased by Sid and her grandson, Andrew. She is survived by her brother Marty (Sheila), her children, Barry (Janie), Susan (Steve), Mark (Lisa) as well as her grandchildren Joseph (Amanda), Rachel (Shira), Elise (Michel), Brian, and Alaina (Jack), and her great-grandson Jonathan. Loving nieces, nephews and cousins were also the focus of her devotion and affection. Helen will be deeply missed by friends and family alike.
