Helene Evans

d. October 8, 2023

Bala Cynwyd, PA

Helene Evans (nee Kimmel), 81, of Bala Cynwyd, PA passed away on October 8, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Helene was born on May 12, 1942, to Meyer and Minnie Kimmel in Philadelphia. After Helene graduated from Overbrook High School in 1960, she attended Temple University to study Marketing. Soon after college, Helene started a family with husband Richard Evans, dedicating her time to raising a daughter, born in 1968, and a son, born in 1973.

Over the years, Helene periodically worked in marketing at Hahnemann Hospital, the Philadelphia Visitors Center, Lifespring and Echo Marketing, the firm she co-founded. In her spare time, Helene was always fascinated by and highly invested in human spirituality, self-improvement potential and the study of Astrology. And, of course, Helene loved her pets Joy, Sprite and Mai-Tai.

Later in life, Helene met Art Forstater, her partner in life. They have been together for 20 years. Art was Helene’s rock, and the couple complemented each other perfectly. Helene got Art into P!nk, Judge Judy and Terms of Endearment, and Art created a Phillies fan in Helene.

Helene was the loving mother of Andrea Silverman (Charles) and Gavin Evans (Lynn); adoring grandmother to four grandchildren — Mo Silverman, Nate Silverman, Luke Evans and Blake Evans; and the dear sister of Barbara Kimmel Kart (Harvey).

Helene had a big smile and a bigger heart. She was kind, witty and fun. She loved the beach, vacations, the Philadelphia Symphony, all quintessential Philly foods, and most of all, being with family. She was strong-willed and sometimes stubborn, but those traits defined Helene.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday October 13 at Joseph Levine & Sons Memorial Chapel (levinefuneral.com), 4737 Street Road, Trevose, PA, followed by the burial at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA.
