Herbert Diamond

Herbert on July 24, 2024, of Jenkintown, PA. Devoted husband of 65 years to Joan (nee Weiss); loving father of Fred Diamond and Bonnie Aaron (Doug); cherished Pop of Steven Diamond, Andi Diamond, Allison Aaron (fiancé DJ Fortine), David Aaron and Abby Diamond.  Lovingly known as Herbie, he was also the dear brother-in-law of Lynne Weiss Marshall (Ira) and beloved uncle to David Weiss (Amy) and Adam Weiss (Jessica). Raised in Wynnefield, Herbie loved playing baseball growing up, eventually playing right field on the Overbrook varsity team. He claimed to know Wilt Chamberlain, as they were both varsity athletes at Overbrook concurrently. He achieved his degree at Temple University, but his biggest prize was meeting his future wife, Joanie, when she attended a freshman dance. They met the year before she started at Temple but didn’t become a couple until they reunited at that dance. He was a proud Tau Epsilon Phi (TEP) at Temple and kept in touch with fraternity brothers until his passing. He pursued a career in accounting and formed Diamond, Wasserman, and Liss, which eventually became Diamond and Associates, a firm which still bears his name. Along the way, he became a worshipful master of the Masonic Welcome Lodge. In addition, he served as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the Village Grand at Little Mill in Egg Harbor Township. But his main joy was supporting wife and her many social and charitable ventures. 

He will be missed by his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services, Friday, July 26, 1:30pm at Shalom Memorial Park, 3573 Pine Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA.

Following services, shiva will commence at the home of Bonnie and Doug Aaron. Shiva will continue on Saturday evening with visitation starting at 6:30 and Minyan at 7:30 and Sunday with Minyan at 7:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Herbie's memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
