The Honorable Barry Charles Dozor died suddenly August 23, 2025, at the age of 76 at his home in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania.
Barry Dozor Esquire, is a respected and revered Trial Court Judge who had the distinction of serving honorably on the civil, criminal and family sections of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas for 25 years. He is noteworthy for his calm, friendly and fair means of disposition and for doing what was best for his community. Upon retirement from the Court, Barry set out to reshape his career in mediation and arbitration.
His time on the bench was preceded by a partnership with his dear friend Sam Auslander in the Law firm “Dozor and Auslander” in Collingdale that became a Delaware County institution for 26 years. During this time, Barry was elected five terms as Marple Township Commissioner and as a municipal Solicitor for many communities. Throughout his tenure, Barry found passion and purpose helping his neighbors and community as a true public servant.
Barry was born on May 23, 1949 to the parents of Leon Pete Dozor and Carolyn Dolberg Dozor in Philadelphia. Barry is the eldest brother to Allen Dozor with wife Donna, and Robin Straff with husband Ira, who grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania in a close family.
Barry graduated proudly from West Chester University where he met his loving wife Rose Dozor and is honored to have been among the inaugural graduating class of the Delaware Law School in 1975 (currently Widener University School of Law).
Anyone who has met Barry appreciates his genuine outgoing love, care and affection. His true love Rose and he had a beautiful marriage of 53 years. Together, they were prominently involved and proud of their children Josh and his wife Trish, Ian, Courtney and their grandchildren Jacob and Kiera. Barry is known for his beautiful flower garden and his love of the beach and food.
Family was most important to Barry who loved them all very much. His greatest wish is for us all to remain supportive of each other and together.
