Irwin Perlstein, age 86 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 5, 2026. Born in 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, Irwin lived a full and vibrant life defined by love, friendship, and devotion to family and community.
He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Sylvia Perlstein, and his beloved sister, Carol.
Irwin is survived by his devoted wife, Wendy Perlstein, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished summers at the shore, and a passion for traveling together. He was a proud loving father to his daughters, Carrie (and her husband Jon) and Stacey(and her husband Jon). His greatest joy was being “Pop” to his five adoring grandchildren: Bobby, Taylor, Sylvia, Claire, and Brooke.
Irv was a deeply devoted grandfather who treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether playing games, taking them on outings, or attending their activities. He would do anything to be part of their lives, and that brought him endless pride and happiness.
Known for his joyful spirit, warmth, and zest for life, Irv had a remarkable ability to make those around him smile. He was a natural jokester who loved laughter and connection, and he built lifelong friendships that he valued deeply. His circle of friends adored him, just as he cherished them.
Irv had a lifelong love of sports, especially baseball and golf, and he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends. He also found great purpose in service through his Rotary Club, where he was a past president and active and passionate member for over 20 years. Guided by the principle of “service above self,” he worked tirelessly to support numerous charitable causes, with a special dedication to raising funds for veterans.
Above all, Irwin’s greatest passion was his wife, Wendy, and the family they built together. His legacy of love, generosity, humor, and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
