Jack M. Pincus

Jack M. Pincus of Bryn Mawr Jack M. (Jacob Morris) Pincus, age 87 died on July 13, 2015 having hospice at his home following a lengthy illness of Dementia with Lewy Body. He tried tirelessly to fight back. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys (Goldner), 3 children Andrew (“Drew”) Pincus, Lori Kelly (John) and Richard A. Shassian (Michelle); and 6 grandchildren. Also survived by 2 sisters, Florence Borow and Natalie Krieger. His older brother, Milton “Bud” predeceased him. Jack graduated as School President of West Philadelphia High. “Jack will long be remembered as one of the most successful presidents Western has yet seen.” He attended Drexel University and graduated from the University of Miami. At the close of the draft he enlisted in the National guard and remained in the reserves. Following, Jack joined the family business, Albert A. Pincus and Sons until Redevelopment purchased the property. He then became an insurance broker selling life, health and long term care policies, caring always a great deal for his clients personally. He retired when he became ill. Jack was a Mason and a member of Rodeph Shalom Synagogue for many years. Jack loved life, adored his wife for just short of 52 years with a very special love and friendship. He loved his 3 children deeply, cherished his 6 grandchildren of whom he was so proud of their accomplishments. He enjoyed art, searching for unusual antique objects, traveling to numerous countries, as well as the South West Native American culture and history. He and his wife “adopted” a Navajo family residing on the Navajo Reservation at “Four Corners.” They mentored a teenage girl from this family who expressed a desire to attend college and to become the first in her family to do so. This caring was instrumental in her being granted full scholarships for her to matriculate at the University of Arizona. Jack had an incredible loving heart until the very end of his life. He will be sadly missed. Contributions in his memory may be made to Navajo Nation Scholarship Office, P.O. Box 1870, Window Rock, AZ 86515 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.levinefuneral.com JOSEPH LEVINE & SONS
