SKLOFF JACK M. SKLOFF (Age 82) Of Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, DC. Always cherished husband of Joclyn; loving brother-in-law of Laura and Roger; devoted father of Rachel; beloved uncle of Lisa, David, Pamm, and Leslie; grandfather of Alexander; and great uncle of Aaron, Hannah, and Ari passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. Those who knew Jack talked about his heart and always felt "it was so big it almost couldn''t fit in his chest." It''s impossible to count those he helped and the lives he touched. As a business owner he was renowned for devotion to his employees, both personally and professionally. To him they were family with many staying on for decades. Among his friends were lifelong buddies from Philadelphia''s Northeast High School. He organized the reunions that kept their bond and friendships strong. A man of many talents and interests, he was a dancer who won contests back in the day, a radio host who wrote comedy sketches. He was a champion kibitzer his whole life. Jack was always the one who kept the laughter going. Dear to his heart was classical music, which his parents Rose and Mike played in the apartment above their pharmacy on West Oak Lane. He knew every piece and every composer. Jack served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Temple University. As a 1st Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps, he was stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany. His devotion to his country was as strong as his devotion to those he loved. Fresh out of the Army, he bought Beauticraft Plastic Company from his Uncle Bud. He grew the small retail plastic slipcover business and established a wholesale side, Marcraft, after moving the company to Washington, DC. Always up for a new endeavor, in 1974, with no experience in the travel business, he bought Dimensions Travel and turned it into a highly successful enterprise spanning over 30 years. He often joked that he himself had little time to travel, spending long days at the office to send others around the world. Whether sports, corporate, government or leisure travel, his clients valued his expertise and devotion, many staying with him for decades. His dear friendship with Abe Pollin, owner of the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals, made it a natural for Jack to handle the teams'' travel. He did so with great passion and care for over 30 years until his retirement. Jack''s heart was so huge, it touched everyone around him. Jack, you will forever be in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to services Sunday March 6, 1:30 p.m. at Joseph Levine & Sons 4737 Street Road Trevose, Pa. Interment will be held privately in New York.
