March 22, 1934 - October 1, 2024
James (Jimmy) Ginsberg was the devoted husband of Arlene Ginsberg (Rodstein), adoring father of Linda Ginsberg and Liz Kamens (Matthew Kamens), and beloved “Jimmy Pop” to his grandchildren: Samuel Hudis, Isaac Hudis (Michael Schumeister), Rebecca Kamens, Gavriella Kamens, and the late Jacob Kamens.
Jimmy graduated Cheltenham High School in 1952 and graduated with honors from Penn State in 1956. He won the Pennsylvania State Junior Golf Championship at age 16, beginning a lifelong love of competitive golf. He was the Ashbourne Country Club golf champion many times, and he played for decades at both Philmont Country Club and Admiral’s Cove. He had the honor of representing the United States at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1961 and 1985. He cofounded Space Port, one of the first pinball and video game arcade chains to open in shopping malls across the country. Jimmy was the life of the party, with a quick wit and a billion-dollar smile. We will deeply miss the perpetual twinkle in his eye.
His memory will be honored at a graveside service at 12:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 6, at Haym Salomon Memorial Park in Frazer, PA. Family and friends are invited to return after the service to the Kamens Residence, where there will also be a Shiva service at 7PM.
