Jane Eleanor Simon (nee Strongin)

July 13, 1944 — December 29, 2023

It is with profound heartbreak and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and wife, Jane Simon.

Jane is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Rick, sons David (Marla), Steven, and Douglas, granddaughters Arielle (Troy Tucker) and Marissa, step granddaughter Emily, brother Stuart (Lili), brother-in-law Barry (Martha), and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was a graduate of James Madison High School (Brooklyn, NY) and Brooklyn College.  Later in life, Jane continued her Jewish education. She was Bat Mitzvah at Congregation Or Ami in Lafayette Hill, PA. Afterwards, she furthered her education at Gratz College where she earned a Masters Degree in Jewish Education and was her class Salutatorian. She was a beautiful, caring, and kind person who was passionate about her family, close friends, and the importance of education.

Her love for Judaism was passed down to her children. Dave and Steve furthered their Jewish studies at Gratz College while Dave has taught at synagogues for almost forty years. Jane was Doug’s biggest cheerleader. She was a substitute teacher and enjoyed interacting with her students. She loved to read, enjoyed musical theater which led Steve to major in musical theater, and had a quick wit.

Relatives and friends are invited to chapel services on Tuesday January 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM; at JOSEPH LEVINE & SONS 4737 Street Road, Trevose, PA. Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.  The family will return to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. David Simon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jane’s name to the Dementia Society of America (PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901) or Old York Road Temple-Beth Am (971 Old York Road Abington, PA 19001).
