Jeffrey David Hofferman, May 20, 2026, of Philadelphia, PA. Beloved husband of Renee (nee Shanks) Hofferman; loving father of Jordan Hofferman, Andrew Hofferman and Gabriel Hofferman; adoring grandfather of Eleanor Sage Hofferman; cherished son of Edward and Sheila (nee Tankin) Hofferman; devoted brother of Jill (nee Hofferman) and David Schlamm and uncle to Emma and Maggie Schlamm.
Jeff grew up in Elkins Park and graduated from The Solebury School in New Hope, PA. He earned his Bachelor Degree from Hampshire College, and attended Emory Law School where he received his JD. After graduating law school, Jeff joined the practice of Mesirov, Gelman, Jaffe, Kramer, and Jamison where he became partner. When Mesirov folded, he joined the law firm of Gollatz, Griffin, & Ewing and then finally Flaster Greenberg. While his career was cut short because of physical disability, he had a reputation of being a sharp civil litigator with broad expertise. He also served as a judge pro tem for the court of common pleas. He lived in Elkins Park, where he and his wife, Renee, raised their three boys; Jeff then moved to Chestnut Hill where he resided the past six years. Jeff was a unique individual who always marched to his own beat. Quick witted with a keen sense of humor, Jeff’s superior intellect was only matched by his truly beautiful huge heart. He was a man who loved his family fiercely, and was always for the underdog. Jeff was a great cook, and nothing made him happier than having family and friends enjoy his culinary creations. He was a talented guitarist, and music was his passion. He loved to play at open mics and other venues, and had a bit of a cult following. Jeff will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
A memorial gathering will be announced at a future date. Contributions in Jeff’s memory may be made to Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) at https://aafa.org/ or to the Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity (PLSE) at https://plsephilly.org/.
