GILBERT
JOAN (nee Spector), died May 12, 2006, age 74. A resident of Bryn Mawr, PA. During school years she resided in Wynnefield and Wynnewood, PA. She graduated cum laude from Overbrook High School in Jan. 1949 at age of 16. She graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in education and was a high school teacher in Phila. and the suburbs while pursuing graduate studies at the University of CT, St. Joseph University and the University of Pennsylvania. Later she joined the staff of TV Guide Magazine as a writer and soon rose to the editorial staff. In 1959 she married Robert M. Gilbert, a real estate appraiser who died in 2001. In 1978 she joined him in the appraisal business specializing in the appraisal of homes of transferred employees of Fortune 500 companies. she is survived by 2 daughters, their husbands and 3 grandchildren. Abby Gilbert, Abby's husband Gary Freedman, step-grandchildren Erica and Robyn Freedman; Ivy Gilbert, Ivy's husband Howard Trachtman and grand-daughter Eliana Rose. She is also survived by a sister Marion (Arthur) Lester of Havertown and a nephew Peter Lester. Services will be held Sun. May 14th, 2006 1:30 P.M. at the Chapel of Mt Sharon Cemetery, Springfield, Delaware County, PA. Family will return Gilbert Feedman residence. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and would be greatly appreciated.
