Joanna (Netzky) GERBER

Age 82, died on February 29, 2024, peacefully, in Seattle, WA, surrounded by her loving children and devoted caregiver, Virginia. Joanna was a soulmate and wife to Lane (z”l) for more than 60 years, beloved mother of Jennifer (Jason) and Matthew (Karen), cherished grandmother of Joseph, Halleli and Julianna, sister to Carol, loving aunt and friend to many. After starting at Goucher College, Joanna earned her B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania. As a dedicated docent at the Toledo Museum of Art and the Seattle Art Museum, Joanna led tours for a variety of populations and exhibits. She was a beloved group leader and created the newsletter for Weight Watchers, and she was an active volunteer, including at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and at Beth Shalom Synagogue in Seattle. Joanna had many happy memories of summers spent at Forest Acres Camp for Girls in Fryeburg, Maine and could be heard singing Friendship Circle camp songs throughout her adult life. A graveside funeral service will be held at Montefiore Cemetery in Jenkintown at 11am Monday, March 4. A Celebration of Life for Joanna and Lane is planned for May 5 in Seattle.

Donations in Joanna's memory may be made to the Toledo Museum of Art (https://toledomuseum.org/donate) or to the
