Joel B. Cohen, of Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. He was a beloved husband, loyal father, cherished grandfather, and brother whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joel was the devoted husband of Margaret “Peggy” Cohen (née DiLello) and the deeply loved father of Andreas Cohen (Shushu) and Megan Rehling (Eric). He was a proud grandfather to Samantha and Ashley Rehling, who brought him great joy and happiness.
Joel was also the treasured brother of Janet First (late Willard) and the late Paul Cohen (late Bobbi). His family was an important part of his life, and he treasured the time spent with those closest to him.
Joel was a proud veteran of the United States Army rising to Sergeant before retiring from the service, where he began to build his packaging business. A business he would own and operate for over 50 years. Joel’s life was defined not by how he left this world, but by the love he gave, the family he cherished, and the lasting impact he left behind. The eternal optimist, Joel always had time to offer support, provide a winning stock tip, or give a warm smile. He never missed an opportunity to chat about his Drexel Dragons or provide a passionate review of the state of his beloved Philly sports teams.
In keeping with Joel’s wishes and his spirit of giving, he donated his body to science, allowing his passing to contribute to the education and advancement of future generations at The Drexel University College of Medicine.
